MASTERS AT THE JACOBS SCHOOL OF MUSIC

Katie will be pursuing an M.M. Voice at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University Bloomington starting this Fall.

Mozart Opera Die Zauberflöte

FIERA DI PRIMIERO, ITALY

Katie Song-Yi Nam was accepted into the Young Artist Program Opera & Voice Studio at the Trentino Music Festival, to be part of their 20th Anniversary Festival Per Mezzano Romantica for the Italian audience at the beautiful villages of Dolomites Italy.  Katie was selected to play the principle role of “The Second Lady” in their Opera production of Die Zauberflöte working under the direction of conductor Arthur Fagen and Robin Guarino.  Die Zauberflöte Magic Flute Mozart Opera Performance at Fiera Di Primiero dates: July 21, 24, 25 and 28th.

OPERA GALA, GOODBYE OPERA GALA

MEZZANO, ITALY


Katie was selected to perform and be part of the OPERA GALA, GOODBYE OPERA GALA both as a soloist and a part of the ensemble for the 20th Anniversary Trentino Music Festival Per Mezzano Romantica in collaboration with the Music Academy of New York GALA at Brolo, Mezzano.  Solo performed from Massenet’s “Frere! Voyez” from Werther at the GOODBYE Opera Gala.  Ensemble performed at the OPERA gala from Puccini’s Madama Butterfly “Humming Chorus” and from Bizet’s Carmen “Habanera” and “Toreador Song.” Gala dates: July 7, 30th.

Katie will be making her NYU Steinhardt OPERA in person debut as VENUS and part of the ensemble in ORPHEUS IN THE UNDERWORLD composed by Jacques Offenbach at the Frederick Loewe Theatre on March 31, April 1, April 2, and April 3.  Join Katie and her peers for an evening of opera performing the English version by Anthony Buck and Marc Verzatt under the direction of Marc Verzatt, his first directorial debut at NYU!  Incredible Maestro Josh Rosenblum will be our Music Director.

Under the leadership and direction of Janis Siegel of The Manhattan Transfer and Lauren Kinhan of New York Voices, Katie will be performing with the Village Voices Jazz Contemporary Ensemble.  She is honored to have been selected as part of the ensemble with 12 members to perform at NYU Class of 2022 grad alley.  Katie will sing a solo in Jacob Collier's song "Hideaway".

On April 23rd, Katie Nam will be performing with T.C. Kincer for her Junior Recital in collaboration with Harolyn Blackwell and Dr. Scott Murphree. Program theme “Night and Dreams” includes songs from Handel, Mozart, Schubert, Debussy and Ricky Ian Gordon. 

She dedicates this recital in memory of her grandfather.
